Program and booking conceptThe massive surplus of good bands and projects is more than we can handle. Neither can we react adequately to all offers nor present much of the music which we think deserves it. Nevertheless a number of qualified people listen to all demo-CDs. Musicians can inform themselves about the style and quality of the club's music by studying the program. Bands (esp. Swiss groups) which send a demo-CD followed by an email enquiry (c. 5 months later) will as a rule be notified. From time to time it happens that bands have to cancel their gig at short notice. This may be an opportunity for another group if we know about its availablity.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays we usually book the same group. These evenings are especially suitable for younger regional bands. As these are sometimes rather quiet evenings, we can only pay a modest fee and no hotel costs. Booking: c. 8 months in advance. Thursdays are often devoted to more experimental and unconventional styles. As the audience response is often modest, we pay a normal fee but no hotel costs. Booking : c. one year in advance. Fridays and Saturdays usually belong to establishes bands with an international reputation. As these groups usually find a large audience, the club pays the normal fee plus hotel costs.
