Nicolas Masson Quartet

This brilliant quartet is also coming to bird's eye on its release tour.

Renowned saxophonist Nicolas Masson, a key figure in the Swiss new jazz scene, started out in the New York jazz scene in the 1990s and has since collaborated with numerous international musicians. Masson's gentle, lyrical melodies with their warm, broad tone weave themselves carefully and contrapuntally into Colin Vallon's wonderfully subtle yet precise piano playing. Patrice Moret and Lionel Friedli provide a fine, groovy rhythmic foundation. This band has been playing together for almost two decades and draws almost telepathically from a unified core of intuition and creativity. Masson's latest album, “Renaissance”, has just been released on ECM.
